US Military Service Act
The US Military Service Act is the federal law that requires all males 18-25 to be registered for the United States Armed Forces. The registration process provides the Selective Services with a current address. Though we do not currently have an active draft, all young men must still register as a preparation for the possibility of a national emergency. Failure to register is punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both. Registration is a prerequisite for obtaining college financial aid, loans, and Pell Grants.
Young men may register by visiting a local Post Office or online at www.sss.gov .

NCAA and Student-Athletes
The NCAA Eligibility Center's website NCAA.org/playcollegesports is designed to help high school student-athletes successfully transition to college. The enhanced online content gives student-athletes a broad look at the initial-eligibility process and detailed information about common initial-eligibility situations. A wide range of frequently-asked questions addressing issues from academic and amateurism eligibility to high school and core-course review are easily searchable. The 2018-2019 Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete is available here.
